FAQ

I've never done Pilates before, how should I get started?

Are you interested in group mat classes or working on the pilates apparatus (reformer, chair, tower)?  For specific issues and individual attention, you might prefer private trainings. If you have done pilates before and want to work on the machines in a small-group setting, then the Equipment Circuit is best-suited. If you are new to pilates and want to get a feel for the method then start out with mat classes.

Can I attend every class as a beginner?

Mat classes are designed to be open-level with some classes being more challenging physically than others. We recommend beginning with the Pilates Fundamentals class if you are brand new to the method.

Do I need to bring anything with to my first class?

You are welcome to bring a towel if you would like but we are equipped with mats and everything you need.

What are your dressing facilities?

We do not have showers and have just a small changing area so keep that in mind in case you need to bring other clothes to change in to.

How do I find the studio?

The Base Pilates is located within the courtyard of Chausseestr 36. To access the courtyard go through the metal gates to the left of the main entrance. If the gate is locked you need a code to get in: type in 36142. The studio entrance is a glass door on the right side of the courtyard with stairs going down.

What time should I arrive before my class?

As we are a small private studio with classes sometimes running back to back we ask that you do not

Please note:

Mat classes takes place in small groups of maximum 6-7 participants. Classes are designed to be open-level but if you are a total beginner or have injuries, please modify as needed.

For group lessons on the machines (including Reformer), please sign-up for Equipment Circuit classes (pilates experience is  prerequisite) Classes take place with 3-4 people

Duo's are semi-private sessions for two people only, meaning you have to sign-up together with a partner or friend and each purchase a credit. Please do not purchase a Duo credit if you intend to have a personal training.

Private clients accepted based on availability. With any questions please reach out for a consultation call.
